Agreement and contact
These terms are effective from 28 July 2026. By using Halalio, you agree to them. Halalio is currently provided as a pre-release service under the Halalio name in the United Kingdom. Support contact: halalio@outlook.com. The legal operator identity will be added before commercial release. If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the service.
What the service provides
Halalio provides informational screening of packaged-food label data and educational answers about foods and ingredients. It separates detected ingredient concerns, certification status, source-verification needs, scholarly differences and image-reading uncertainty.
Not a fatwa or certification
A Halalio scan result or Ask answer is not a fatwa, legal opinion, guarantee or halal certificate. Products and formulations change, labels can be incomplete, sources can conflict, databases can be wrong and automated systems can make mistakes.
A school preference changes which documented view is explained first, but does not create a personal ruling. Cross-check important decisions using the displayed sources and, when necessary, the manufacturer, a recognised halal certification body or a qualified scholar.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for providing a clear, complete label and checking that the result refers to the correct product, formulation and country. Do not rely on Halalio for allergies, intolerances, medical decisions or emergency situations.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, attempt unauthorised access, disrupt its operation, upload unlawful material, automate requests outside the provided app interface or use results to misrepresent a product as certified.
Third-party information
Product and certification information may come from manufacturers, certifiers and external databases. Links and source references are provided for transparency, but their availability and accuracy are not controlled by Halalio.
Free, advertising and future paid versions
The free tier includes five ingredient-photo scans and one new online-research request per UTC day. A research request may be an Ask Halalio knowledge-base miss or new product research. Barcode lookups, manual ingredient checks, protected knowledge-base answers and cached research do not use those allowances.
The free release may show a limited interstitial ad after a completed result. When offered, a user may voluntarily watch a rewarded ad for one additional photo scan, subject to the stated daily limit, successful reward completion and confirmation by the Halalio allowance service. Closing or declining a rewarded ad does not remove the standard free allowance. Pre-release development builds use Google test ads.
The planned paid tier will contain no ads and is currently designed to include higher daily allowances. Paid subscriptions are not offered until the price, renewal, cancellation and purchase terms appear in the app. Purchases will be processed by Apple or Google. Store refund rules and non-excludable consumer rights continue to apply.
Availability and responsibility
The service may change or be temporarily unavailable. Daily AI allowances reset at midnight UTC. A service-wide spending safeguard may temporarily pause paid AI requests, including before an individual allowance is exhausted; barcode, manual, database and cached answers remain available.
Allowances may change prospectively with notice but are not money, cannot be transferred and do not roll over. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Halalio is provided without a guarantee that every label, database entry, source or automated output is complete or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your mandatory consumer rights.
Changes, ending use and disputes
You may stop using Halalio and delete app data at any time. Access may be restricted for abuse, security risk or breach of these terms. Material changes will be dated and communicated in the app.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not remove mandatory rights or your ability to bring proceedings where local law permits. Contact support first so concerns can be investigated.
